I would like to thank Bandit for all the great contacts that I've made through the years.
When I arrived in London I didn't know anyone and through the publication I was
managed by Bob Miller that Manages Korin-Baily-Rae for a while, met Douglas Mew, David
Massey and many others. Although I didn't sign with them, they gave me the faith
and strength to keep going with my dream till last year that I had a break with my single
"Beauty of the Duty" that got to the BBC Radio 2 playlist and over 40 other radio stations
without a label and big machine behind me. Best Tally, London.

Just wanted to say thanks for Bandit.
Answering an advert in the March issue I was able to contact Mike Puskas
now of Ikonic artists. After meeting and spending time
recording I have now formally signed with him. All thanks to Bandit. You
can find two of my songs I recorded with Mike on my website.
All the Bandit contacts that replied to me gave advice good and bad which helped a
lot. Compared to the 1000`s of blind demos that were not even acknowledged
this was refreshing. I am certainly recommending you to my friends.

Hi John, I have received my first issue of my new subscription
to Bandit. I am actually a past subscriber and only cancelled briefly
owing to cash flow problems. I have had several successes through
Bandit, including a track licensed to a Lucky Sounds compilation,
non-exclusive deals with sync licensing companies, and representation
at Midem on three occasions. I am sure Bandit will provide me with many
more opportunites. Best wishes, Oliver Shaw.UK

Hi John, We took out a subscription with you in June to which you also
sent back issues, from these we tried 13 mailshots to which we received
4 replies. We now have tomorrow (22/8/11), a album called FIOLED, being

who work individually but as a team when needs be and also do indidvidual
song deals / publishing. Your newsletter is a must for us bringing in new
projects every month to shoot a mailshot at as we don t tie ourselves to
one venture! Many thanks and lets keep rolling along as your newsletter
is magic! Wishing you and yours health, happiness and good fortune

Hi John, thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that in the few months I've
been receiving Bandit I've already had some great feedback on my songs:
even had a couple of offers including a funded production deal with Mike
Puskas, who says he could probably get the album released on a name indie
label. David Buskell of World Domination Records has also been in touch
about possibly publishing my material, so I think it's only a matter of patience
and tenacity before things start to happen. Wish I'd subscribed years ago -
look forward to next issue! Cheers, Kris Wilkins, UK.

Hi John I've been lucky enough to have had hits in a
number of territories throughout the world since 2002 (having got all
my leads from Bandit!). I supplied the title
track on the Taiwanese artist Rainie Yang's number 1 album 'Not Yet A
Woman' which was released in November 2008 by Sony BMG (and is
still selling strongly throughout South East Asia). Thank you for including my last article in
Bandit (April 09 I think). The response was excellent and I made contact with
a number of talented producers, co-writers and vocalists. To date, this has
resulted in a 3-song publishing deal and two compilation releases by a
German label (Dec 2009 + April 2010 - worldwide distribution).

Hey John,
I just wanted to let you know that since producer Fran Ashcroft put the feature in your Bandit newsletter in regards to my company looking for talent. I have had
response literally from all over the world, Ireland, England, Australia and the US., not just any talent, some are world class talent. Quite frankly, the reaction
that I have recieved from Bandit newsletter has determined the outcome of a decision that I have been contemplating for about the last 3 years. With that
said, I am starting a full service independent label, McMahan Entertainment. The site will be up soon. Thank you for the add, it's greatly appreciated.

Keith Anderson here from NO EXCUSE RECORDS, based in Seattle.
We worked with Bandit back around 2002-03. I met and started working
with UK Producer Stuart Wakeman through your newsletter. Later on
Stuart and I recruited several vocalists through Bandit, and you and I
met while I was recording with Stuart on the Isle of Wight in 2003.
Tracks produced with Stuart are now selling downloads all over the world,
and we were able to help London based vocalist Emma Stakes
progress in her career (she now has a deal with Sony in the UK).
We've had songs covered by other artists, tracks in a Japanese movie,
and most recently had 2 tracks (Only Love & All Because of You)
licensed by DJSpire for his new release, VELOURIUM.

Hi John,
Another of the youngsters I work with, 14 year old Lauren, now has a deveolpment

Hi John, just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how we have
been getting on with some submissions from your newsletter.

in film, game & TV licensing), Technosweat compilations (responsible for
licensing music into worldwide gymnasiums) and also First Stoke
(responsible for syncing our tracks up with people doing wonderful stuff on all

Hi John. I will be renewing my subscription very soon. Have to say your newsletter
offers the best contacts anywhere. My daughter, A-Jay (Amanda-Jane),
is an R&B/soul performer with similar potential to Joss Stone.
Since she started responding to Bandit requests, she`s had quite a few offers
from established producers/writers to perform their songs, but the most
recent interest is from very big players. She has received definite interest from a major U.S.A. contact and all due to your newsletter. If she signs a major deal, you`ll be the first to know. Stu Leggat, UK

released later this year by Warm Milk Productions in New York. I will be renewing for another three months soon. Thanks and all the best. Billy Hamilton, SLOVAKIA

As a result of subscribing to the Bandit A&R newsletter; several of my tracks
have been featured on Compilation CDs and I have been in touch with
several film and music companies who have promoted my music. In

All of this in addition to releasing a top 40 UK remix in 2007 and working with
several artists on other remixes is thanks to the fantastic service that John
and the Bandit A&R newsletter provides for me and other artists. Keep up the
outstanding job!

Back in October's edition of your newsletter was a feature for Matt Burrows of Blinded By Sound who was working on a dance project. As I love dance music also, I went for it. To my great surprise I received an email from Matt saying I had been shortlisted. I had never been shortlisted for anything like this before. Two months later, after an audition, I had been chosen out of 400 applicants to go work with Matt at Blinded By Sound. I was over the moon! The song is being released late this year/early next year. I would have to say Bandit is first class information when it comes to quality music contacts. Thank you. Sharmaine Pierre

I had been managing my son for only a few weeks when I saw an advert in Bandit August 2005. Beats n Bars had put an advert in asking for demo's to be sent to them for singer/songwriters. I sent a demo on the Thursday morning and by Friday a.m. I recieved a phone call from Beats n Bars saying they loved the demo's and could we arrange a meeting. We had a meeting and after a month we signed on the dotted lines and the rest is history. You will be hearing a lot more about Hesh V this year.
All thanks to John at Bandit.

Here's a few deals soho electric have made as a result of BANDIT tips:
My song "set your mind & body free" has been remixed by jubbz[aka suppy & demand], released thro' his label 'New Urban Music', and published by Croydon-based WORLD DOMINATION MUSIC [David Buskell] - whom i found thru the Oct 2005 BANDIT issue.
The soho electric track "wrap your arms around me" has been getting heavy promotion since August on the playlists of internet radio station PULSERATED.COM
[formerly PUSLEUNSIGNED.COM] & SKY DIGITAL 905 FM. Pulse contacted me after I'd sent them a demo due to their BANDIT listing in Aug 05.
I have made contact with producer/writers GARY MILL &
ANDY LITTLEWOOD [Flash Harry Productions] thro BANDIT 2004 tips.
The former put me in touch with publisher Patrick Meads at MIG WORLD MUSIC,
who published a Spanish cover version of our song "La Matadora".
Our song "Into the eye of the hurricane" was published by Rino
Fillipin at MILLVILLE MUSIC ITALY in 2003 [and subsequently covered] thru a
BANDIT tip.

I got the lead from your excellent newsletter. Many thanks, Chris Wright, UK
I'm a singer-songwriter and I moved to london just over a year ago. I just
wanted you to know resulting from a bandit contact I gained a production
deal with "SOUNDJOINT" producers Barnaby Smith and Chris Bachmann.
We have recorded an EP called . I have just about finsihed
off the artwork, etc and will be ready to start putting this out to labels for
potential release in the coming months via more great bandit contacts -
hopefully !!! Many thanks for all you do for myself and others and keep up
the good work. Jonny Amos, UK
Here's an update so far since I subscribed over three years ago after which
I soon stopped because of the workload your newsletter generated. So far I
have had a co-write release with Sony, Holland, another with Vale Music,
Spain, a song on the new Bratz DVD Starrin' & Stylin' released by 20th
Century Fox, two tracks co-written with Gary Mill (another subscriber,(and a
great chap!)) released by Milleville Publishing (who were the publishers
that did the song Black Box, Ride On Time). A song joint published with Rick
James's management and record companies wanting more material. I also
co-write with International songwriters now which is great !!! I am
exclusively signed to a London Music Publisher which means that my songs get
heard at every level of A&R Internationally.
If there is anybody out there that is doubting the credibility of your
newsletter - (like I did for ages before I actually paid the extremely
reasonable fee) then please think again. I am now a member of PRS and MCPS,
the two giants in our field which means I can now do pretty much anything in
terms of releasing records and licensing music to anybody if I want,
anywhere, anytime !! - but I have a publisher firmly on my side which is the
BEST THING any songwriter can have.
Can't thank you enough for top class research and networking.
All the best! Lex James PRS/MCPS
I've recently signed a single song publishing deal via a Bandit contact with PLAY ANY KEY MUSIC in Texas. They're also interested in hearing further material with a view to publication. Simon Hastings, UK.
Just thought you would like to know we have just signed a publishing contract with Woody Richardson from Woodrich Publishing (BMI) in the United States. We got his contact through the February edition of Bandit and are thoroughly delighted at our first break through in the states. Many Thanks Scott MacFarlane, UK.
Thought you may like to hear that thanks to Bandit newsletter, my songwriting partner Scott MacFarlane(also bandit subscriber) and my self have just signed two songs to Castle records in Nashville. The managing director ED Russell has been wonderful and very friendly and has informed us that the songs are intended for one of his new recording artists. This is the second time we have signed publishing contracts in the USA this year through Bandit and we are over the moon as you can imagine. Many thanks,
Douglas Davidson, UK.
I'm Martin Hoybye, I signed a deal with Standard Recording Co.
USA for release of my singer/songwriter album "East of November"
- through the Bandit Newsletter. It's coming out in Scandinavia
as well. The songs are a mix of folk, americana and rock'n roll -
I've been told the production is top-notch. You can give it a
quick listen here: www.standardrecording.com/hoybye

Solarise records site as featured in Bandit. From sending the album
it was up and running within a week. Took three months for
peoplesound to do the same...not same Album though. I am 'made up'
Harry Williams,
Many, many thanks to Bandit for supplying me with absolutely
invaluable advice and information over the past few months. Through
Bandit I met my current manager and after working with him for a
few months I may now be very close to signing a deal with a
major label. Liz Cirelli,
My Bandit subscription is already paying dividends. We have hooked
up with Holier Than Thou Records to distribute my next album "I Can
Make Believe" in the UK. This includes full promotion and a UK tour
for me starting next June.
Keith Anderson, USA
I thought you might be interested to know that
as a result of an advertisement in the December 2001 edition of the Bandit
newsletter, 20 year old Pop/R&B vocalist Pippa Rogers from Cardiff is soon to
fly out to Italy to discuss a possible production deal with Ilenia Carli of
AnyWay Music. Keep up the great work. Phil Rogers, UK.
I'm just forwarding the good news that we were picked for the National Suicide
Awareness CD and we owe it all to Bandit! Plus another Swami song was picked up
by yet another NBC TV show courtesy of Lappen Inc. (by way of Bandit of course)
I recommend Bandit to all the musicians I know. Damian Eckstein, USA.
Would like to send thanks to you and your army for all the contacts. I have had
great responses from D-em uk records was C3 Records also Wild Side publishing.
Had offers from both but have kept my options open just for now. But always on
the lookout. Nikki McGuinness, UK www.alaskalyle.com
Many thanks for the four record releases got from bandit - they sold many
thousands of records without making my fortune and it was fun to go into Virgin
Mega-store and HMV and see my songs on the racks. The other thing that I got was
having three songs on Mike Colliers Robinsong operation. Those compilations sold
many thousands of copies. Although they were on budget labels - they were on
sale everywhere and it was great when a friend told me they had been at the
Americana exhibition at Newark show ground and had seen hundreds of people line
dancing to one of my songs. Alan Whittle, UK.
This is just a note to say that due to your newsletter I have secured three
signings with a publisher and a further signing with a record company/publisher.
It's only taken me twenty years !!! Well many thanks to you and your team and
keep up the good work, I'm very grateful and will shout the benefits of The
Bandit Newsletter to other musicians. I owe you a huge beer ! Lex James, UK.
Since subscribing to Bandit a few months ago we have had several offers for

Just a quick line to say that I recently signed a one record publishing contract
with Home City Records. After all my years trying to get people to listen to my
stuff, Michael family and team have accepted one of my songs. Bandit Newsletter
REALLY works! Thanks again John for your assistance. John McCorry, UK.
Last year, having responded to an article in Bandit, the Oregan based indie
label Peacework Music, signed Liz and has been promoting her both within the US
and Japan. Recently the Japanese Yellow Beat group heard one of Liz' tracks
called "Rocks My Boat" and liked the track. Yellow Beat then asked Jef Peace the CEO of Peacework Music to provide a full catalogue of her songs as well as the
usual promo material. She is currently getting airplay in Japan. She is also
featured on Peacework's web site. Liz was asked to do a tour of the West Coast
between this July and September but had previously committed to an Australian
ski season residency over that period.
Ross McRae, AUSTRALIA.
Because of Bandit I have secured a 5 year 5 CD deal with Icefire Int'l Records,
Firedragon Music Publishing and Vandor Music Group. It is primarily a promotion
and distribution contract that comes with corporate offices and an audio/video
studio. My first release is due out later this year as market testing of my
music has been very positive. It has taken several years to get it this far from
when I first responded to an ad in Bandit, but I made it. Thanks! :) David Raven,
My name is Ariel and I'm a subscriber of your very helpful newsletter. I
received an offer from HOME CITY RECORDS to be my publisher for the four tracks
i send and they offered me to produce them as well. the tracks are for a new
girl band releasing singles in the near future (hopefully one of my songs) so...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH and keep on 'cos you're doing a great job. Ariel Amejeiras, UK
We have been subscribing to bandit for about 6 months now and have picked up
some useful contacts, including signing to Sugarstar.com and have interest from

Swami (my band's namesake) has got two songs respectively on NBC's teen drama's "Just Deal" and "Skate". It's nationwide, looks great on the press kit to the record labels, and plus the band is making money for once. All thanks to Lappen Enterprises and Bandit. Keep those leads coming.
Damian Eckstein, (USA)
Firstly we got a publishing deal on our song 'the not so easy blues' from Zamie Songs in Canada from an issue of Bandit earlier in the year.

Thanks to the July issue of Bandit I've had an excellent contact with Norman McCourt of Australian Music Marketing Abroad and will be
featuring in the next AMMA publication for the Midem and SXSW trade shows next year. Many thanks. Mat Dickson
Thank you for the past issues of Bandit. Your newsletter has been most useful, as I am now signed to Northstar Music. They have agreed to take all of my compositions therefore I will no longer need to receive Bandit. I hope your other subscribers make contact with the right people through your publication as happened in my case. Please cancel my bandit subscription. Thank you again. Tim Whitnell,
Dear John, I have been very impressed with the Bandit A&R and I now have the interest of a production company and am seeking management. Chris Everard,
Just thought I'd let you know that I have recently signed an agency agreement with Lappen Enterprises following the posting in the March 2001
newsletter. The aim is for LEI to get my music into tv/film soundtracks .Dominic Bauers,
I have submitted my promo package to some people in your newsletter. Yesterday I signed a deal memo with Lappen Enterprises in LA, they will shop my material to film and tv productions and sound track projects. Kathy September,
Through my first Bandit mailout, I currently have a producer/engineer presenting my new demo to several of the major record and publishing companies.
Here's hoping and thanks for the contact. Thanks, Alistair Watson,
Just to let you know that the advert for Northstar Music put me in touch with a guy who really likes what I do and has taken a lot of my old stuff and
published it with a view to release etc. The Bandit newsletter strikes again! Thanks.
Jonn Savannah,
Further News about the song "How Many Times" I wrote. Its is now on an Album by Peter
Mylett who is with Foam Records. Since that first subscription to Bandit I have signed
Three songs to Riviera, two of which have been recorded. The second song "Don't Turn Your Back On Me " has been recorded by a Female Artist by the name of Myla.
Kindest Regards, Harry Williams,
Hey there John, just wanted to say what a great newsletter. I got a response from one of the labels you listed called Floating Eye Records in Birmingham! We are really excited to be talking with them. He seems like a really nice guy. ERIC ALEXANDRAKIS, www.ericalexandrakis.com
I think I did already advise of a 2 song publishing deal with Riviera Publishing. Since
then Jack Kavanagh from Sunday Man/Rock Slide Records in USA has been in touch and the following developments areimminent.
1. The singer on one of the demo's I sent Jack last May has put his vocals on one of
Rock Slides own compositions (very Country line dance style - Achy Breaky) which will
be released on one of their compilation CD's.
2 The other song I sent will also be released on one of their compilation CD's with
the singer on my demo doing the vocals, together with a publishing deal for the song
with Rock Slide/Sundayman. Song is titled 'Look at Us'
Also. Patrick Meads from Big World Publishing (August bandit release) has expressed a
strong interest on one of my co-writes, and subject to 1 or 2 contractual agreements,
we will sign a publishing deal with him for our song 'Find yourself a good heart'.
Though I'd let you know, so keep up the good work and contacts. Regards, Dave Cullen, <
Dear John, I am one of your bandit subscribers, and I just want to say thank you
for your service. Because of Bandit I was able to knock back 6 deals! You provide
a valuable, good value for money service. I have secured everything I wanted and more,
you won't hear about me until 2002, but when you do it is partly due to the Bandit Newsletter. Hesham Roberts,
COMPANIES
I am writing to say many thanks for the inclusion of our request for film
music "Whatever It Takes" with Director John Glen - James Bond Films
featured on Bandit September Issue 2004. The response from your readers
was absolutely tremendous and as a consequence we are working with
selected top writers for our lead act to perform the material in keeping with
a major signing. We are also pleased to inform you that there are in
addition five acts discovered from the mention to be released via our new
label "Ripple Factor" this spring with world-wide major distribution and
Ripple Promotion. Once again a pleasure and keep up the good work with Bandit helping
artists help themselves.

Grid has just completed its first album with Flannelmouth called "Rain Inside".
We anticipate releases in Australia, Canada, Germany, and the UK for "Rain Inside"
and as you can imagine, this is all very exciting for everyone involved.
Through your publication, we were able to connect with Flannelmouth which
lead to a recording contract and similarly, we connected with Black Bikini
Alpha (UK) with whom we signed a distribution deal for Finland. Bandit is a
fantastik service. Karie Hiebert, Grid Records, Helsinki, Finland
Thought I'd drop you a line to let you know

I would like to thank you as I have recently taken on two acts via my feature in
last Augusts Band It. A great electronic pop band called Ringo Levio from
Durham, featuring an awesome singer Laura 17 years old & Paul Thompson their
main song writer & producer. Also featuring David Hopkins musician
extraordinaire. Just taken on Steve Anthony a pure pop artist with an electro
edge, a fine singer / songwriter / performer... a Pop Idol with talent not just
good looks & voice. Richard Law, R.L.M.
